What Are Blackout Periods?
Blackout periods are specific dates when guests cannot make online reservations. During these times, only you and your staff can make bookings through the system.
When to Use Blackout Periods
You might want to set up blackout periods when:
- You have a holiday special that needs special handling
- You're hosting a big event and want to manage all bookings yourself
- You need time to update your pricing or site information
- You want to handle certain busy seasons in person
Setting Up a Blackout Period
Creating a blackout period is easy! Just follow these steps:
- Click on Settings
- Click on the menu item Online Blackout
- Click to add a new blackout period
- Pick your start and end dates
- Save your changes
Your online booking system will automatically stop taking reservations during the dates you choose.

Good to Know
- Existing reservations won't be affected
- You can still make reservations in person or over the phone
- You can set up multiple blackout periods
- You can remove or change blackout periods anytime
Remember: Let your regular guests know about any upcoming blackout periods so they can plan ahead!
