Canceling a Reservation

There are two ways to cancel a reservation in OpenCampground:

Option 1: Cancel During the Reservation Creation Process

  • If you're in the process of creating a new reservation and haven't completed it yet, you can simply abandon the process to cancel the reservation.

Option 2: Cancel an Existing Reservation

How to Cancel a Reservation
  1. Click on Reservations under the "Guest Management" section
  2. Locate the Reservation by using the search box and filtering by either the "reservation id" or "full name of the guest", or you can scroll through the list of current reservations.
  3. You have two ways to cancel:
    1. View the details of the reservation then click the "Cancel button" at the top of the screen.
    2. Click the button "cancel" on the reservation results page.
After canceling a reservation, the system automatically checks out any linked guests. The reservation record remains in the system but is marked as canceled. If email notifications are enabled, the guest will receive an automatic message about the cancellation. These features help keep your records organized and ensure guests are informed about changes to their bookings.

Please note that canceling a reservation may also trigger additional actions or workflows based on your specific settings and configurations, such as refund processing, inventory updates, or reporting.
