Cancelling a Reservation

OpenCampground lets you add a reason when you cancel a reservation. This helps you keep better records and gives your guests clearer information about their cancellation.

How It Works

When you cancel a reservation, you'll now see a popup window that lets you:

  • Choose from over 20 common cancellation reasons
  • Enter a cancellation charge amount

Where to Find This Feature

  1. From the reservation list page by clicking the "Cancel" button
  2. When viewing a reservation's details by clicking the "Cancel" button

Step-by-Step Process

  1. Click "Cancel" on a reservation
  2. A popup window will appear
  3. Select a reason for the cancellation from the dropdown list
  4. Enter any cancellation charge amount (if applicable)
  5. Click "Confirm"
  6. The system will automatically send an email to the guest explaining:
    • That their reservation has been cancelled
    • The reason for the cancellation
  7. You'll be taken to the transaction page where you can:
    • Process the cancellation charge
    • Issue a partial refund if needed
