How to Filter and Sort Lists

How to Filter and Sort Lists

Overview

OpenCampground allows you to sort and filter information in lists by clicking on column headers. This feature works across Reservations, Guest Profiles, and Transactions, making it easy to organize and find specific information.

Where This Feature Works

You can sort lists in the following sections:

  • Reservations - Sort by reservation number, guest name, dates, amounts, etc.
  • Guest Profiles - Sort by name, email, phone number, etc.
  • Transactions - Sort by date, amount, payment method, etc.

How to Sort a List

Basic Sorting

  1. Locate the Column Header
    • Look at the top row of the list where column names are displayed
    • Examples: "Reservation #", "Customer Name", "Start Date", "Amount Due"
  2. Click the Column Header
    • Click on any column header to sort the list by that column
    • The list will automatically sort in ascending order (A-Z, 0-9, oldest to newest)
  3. Toggle Sort Order
    • Click the same column header again to reverse the sort order
    • This changes from ascending to descending order (Z-A, 9-0, newest to oldest)

Visual Indicators

When a column is sorted, you will see:

  • An arrow icon next to the column name indicating sort direction
  • Highlighted column header showing which column is currently sorted
  • Up arrow (↑) for ascending order
  • Down arrow (↓) for descending order
